The Strengths and Weaknesses of the Xyron 2500 Professional Laminator
In addition to their wonderful selection of crafting tools (such as the Creatopia), lamination king Xyron manufactures some first-rate professional-grade machines. One of these is the Xyron 2500 Professional Laminator, a good choice for all kinds of document-finishing jobs. Here are the strengths and weaknesses of the 2500.
Strengths:
- The 2500 can handle large items without any problem. Its throat can accept documents that are up to 25 inches wide. You Can also laminate objects that are up to 300 feet long, so long as your laminating cartridge has enough film in it for such a big project. This machine can work with materials such as foam board, provided the item you’re working with isn’t more than 3/16 inches thick.
- Xyron laminators are unique because in addition to laminating, they provide several other functions, such as the ability to cover a side of your document with adhesive. The 2500 can do this, as well as apply laminate to one side of your item while making the other side sticky. So not only can the 2500 be used for document preservation and strengthening, you can use it for preparing presentations, storyboards, art projects, and so on.
- This device utilizes Xyron’s patented line of laminate and adhesive rolls. These rolls are easy to install and remove so switching between functions isn’t time-consuming or difficult.
- There are three different types of adhesive available: standard, high-tack (meaning: very permanent), and repositionable. All of these bonding agents are acid-free and they don’t create a mess. Nor are they smelly.
- This is a professional-grade machine that can be used even by beginners because it’s easy to operate. No electricity is required to operate the 2500 as it is a completely manual machine. As a bonus, you won’t waste time waiting for the machine to warm up, as you would with a hot laminator.
Weaknesses:
- As mentioned above, this is a cold process laminator that doesn’t need power. That means this machine cannot be used for hot lamination, unfortunately.
- You might feel somewhat limited in your roll options because you can only use Xyron cartridges with the 2500. Xyron’s laminating films are high-quality to be sure, but the company doesn’t manufacture specialty films. This is definitely something you will want to consider if You Need to use those types of materials.
- This machine has a fairly big footprint. It’s 18.5 inches deep and just over 28 inches wide, so be sure you have adequate room for it before making your purchase. Also, this device weighs about 105 pounds so moving it will be a challenge. (Keep this in mind when choosing a location for your 2500.)
- The 2500 retails for a little over $1,500.00, which will be too expensive for some people. However it is comparable in price to other 25 inch school laminators.
Overall, the Xyron 2500 Professional Laminator is a machine you should consider if your work entails laminating and applying bonding agents to larger documents. As long as you have the space, are fine with Xyron’s cartridge selection, and you don’t need a hot laminator, this would be a great machine to have in your workplace.
What are some good salon, professional grade hair repair treatment?
I just bought Bonacure Exfoliate and Repair, and I have Redken Chemistry.
I mean treatments they ONLY use in a salon…I’m planning on getting Kerastase Vita Ciment sometime
Chemistry is good.Use good products not Pantene, Herbal Essence & Garnier they are silicone products. They make you hair nice at first but as the silicone builds up it locks out moisture your hair weakens & breaks. Use pro products they last longer because you use less so the extra expense is worth it. The shampoos don’t contain a detergent lathering agent so it’s weird at first because you are used to lather. Great specialty products are, Nioxxin,(for growth) Joico K-Pak Reconstructor also Silk Results, Rusk has New Pro Elements Keratin. Nexxus Humectruss & Keraphixx. Big Sexy has good general products. Take Biotin & Vitamin E.
